日本三大祭の一つ、祇園祭 Gion Festival, One of the Three Great Festivals in Japan

The Gion Festival, held on July 1~31 in Kyoto City, 
 京都府京都市で毎年7月1日～31日に開催される祇園祭は
is one of the Three Great Festivals of Japan. 
日本三大祭の一つ。

The highlight of the event is the parade of Yamahoko floats held on July 17. 
祭りのハイライトは17日に行われる山鉾巡行。

Thirty-two floats, which can reach up to 25m in height, 
最大のもので高さ25メートル、32基の山鉾が、
move from the Shijo-Karasuma intersection through Kawaramachidori Street to Oike-dori Street. 
四条烏丸から河原町通を経て御池通へ向かう。

Tickets for spectator seating are sold for the event. 
この日は観覧席が発売されている。

The seats are installed along Oike-dori  Street. 
観覧席設置場所：御池通、

Tickets cost 3,100 yen per reservation 
料金：1席3,100円
(includes a pamphlet and hat to keep off the sun).
