Japan Ranked Second in International Patent Filings国際特許出願数ランキングで日本が2位

Organization (WIPO) reported in February its 2010 international patent filing rankings.                     

世界知的所有権機関（WIPO）は、特許協力条約（PCT）に基づく2010年の国際特許出願数ランキングを2月に発表しました。

The total number of overall patent applications increased by 4.8% to 163,000 compared to last year.                                                            

出願件数全体は前年より4.8％増えて16万3千件。

The USA was first, with Japan second, followed by Germany, China then Korea.

アメリカが1位で、日本は2位。以下、ドイツ、中国、韓国、と続きました。

By applicant, Panasonic Japan was No. 1 for its second consecutive year, filing 2,154 patent applications.         

申請者別では2,154件の特許出願で日本の「パナソニック」が2年連続1位でした。

Second was China’s leading communication company “ZTE.”         

2位は中国の大手通信会社「中興通信」。

Other Top 10 Japanese companies included “Sharp” (8th) and “NEC” (10th).

他のトップテン日本企業では「シャープ」が8位、「NEC」が10位でした。
